In New Road on the double yellow lines opposite the bus bays outside Bourne End Academy

The double yellows were installed because cars parked half on the pavement opposite the bus parking bay and when the coaches/ buses pulled up at 15.00 there was insufficient room for traffic to get through and the road became grid-locked. Now that the yellows are there the cars no longer park there at 15.00. However, there is a secondary pick up about 16.00 and, because no coaches come at this time, people ignore the double yellows and park on them. In the last 3 school days I have twice asked people to move from across my drive to enable me to get in or out. This abuse of the double yellows has been going on for several weeks and it is now the norm for people to park there. Unless parking fines are issued on a regular basis the drivers will not change their habits.
