All pavements in Lower Close, Aylesbury - HP19 7SB

Reported via desktop in the Footpath / pavement problem category anonymously at 14:22, Fri 10 November 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5197315.

Caller reported very bad state of the pavements in the entire road. In one place someone has actually had to dig back the grass to find the edge of the pavement. The utility covers are at all different heights, both above and below. The pavement also undulates very badly.

  • Update

Buckinghamshire Highways operates two methods for safety defect identification; proactively by Highway Inspectors who identify safety defects in line with Highways Safety Inspection Policy and reactively by Local Area Technicians following reports from the public.

Buckinghamshire Highways are responsible for the maintenance of 2,200 miles of road and 1,500 miles of footpaths in Buckinghamshire, this means we have to prioritise works based on a set criteria which includes issues which may present an immediate danger, or significant inconvenience to users of the roads/footpaths, or to the structural condition of the highway and assets contained with the highway boundary. It is regrettably the case that the limited annual funding available to Buckinghamshire Council each year is insufficient to address all defects identified. For this reason, whilst priority defects will receive a repair within appropriate timescales as dictated by the above policy, more minor defects such as the defect you have reported may not be immediately scheduled for repair.

Please be assured, we will continue to inspect all roads in line with our Highways Safety Inspection Policy

State changed to: No further action
