Drain totally blocked and school access gate flooding daily causing access issues for staff and pupils. This has been reported several times previously in September 2020 and December 2021 so it is a recurring problem and still nothing has been done about it.

I am the secretary at Coleshill Infant school and I reported this on Fix My Street in September 2020 and it still has not been addressed. Given that it is outside a school and causes flooding at the gates, please can this be dealt with ASAP. Drain completely blocked with mud/weeds The previous reports’ reference numbers are 40142330 and 40179924, both of which were closed with no action.

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

    We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.

    We have completed our inspection of the issue and have made arrangements for it to be resolved within 6-8 weeks.

    Please be assured, we will continue to monitor the area in line with our Highways Safety Inspection Policy.
