Street lights out for months now

Reported via desktop in the Street light not working category anonymously at 21:45, Wed 25 October 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5138165.

This is absolutely ridiculous and downright dangerous! At least five street lights are out on Totteridge Road now, as has been reported by other people. These need fixing NOW!!

As a young woman, I feel extremely vulnerable standing in pitch black when waiting for a bus. Frankly, if there is a rape/robbery in the area where the lights are not working, Bucks County Council WILL be held accountable for not safeguarding the community (who ironically, it encourages to use public transport or walk!). I will be forwarding this issue on to Steve Baker's office as well.

Updates

  • The Street Lighting Team will carry out an inspection and order a repair if required, this can take up to 20 working days; however, due to the exceptionally high volume of reports currently being received, it may at present take longer than usual to complete this initial assessment.

Once the issue has been investigated, the team will order any necessary repair.
