Blocked drains

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5126026.
Hi there.. I'm begging you not to just instantly close this incident down and tell us we're part of an annual cycle of works.. We desperately, desperately need the drains outside our houses and opposite on the entrance to Millboard Lane clearing as soon as humanly possible, as all it takes is five minutes of heavy rain for the drains to fail, the road to become impassable and our properties to become immediately at risk of flooding. We're clinging on by our fingertips and have been for several weeks now; we've all cancelled holidays, weddings, going into work over the last few weeks any time there is adverse weather forecasted as we all need to be in our homes to defend our properties, so it's no exaggeration to say that this is ruining our lives; none of us can sleep when it is raining overnight. There's a reason why WP [who used to coordinate this at your end] changed the cycle to "every six months", it's because he realised that was the only way you could give us a chance of not regularly flooding. Again - we're begging you, we'll happily pay any money ourselves if it's budgetary!

This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.
We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
