South bound dropmore road between horseshoe hill and lower brook end farm

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 16:14, Friday 22 September 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5022114.

Roadside gully is full of road gravel and blocked. This effects road water and drainage flowing into the gully by pipe. The gully empties into a pipe running to the pond behind Lower Brook End Farm. This pipe may be effected by road gravel. The failure to clear the problem has led to flooding of farm land beyond Lower Brook End Farm to the extent of damaging crops. If the problem is not resolved (having been previously reported and ignored) then the only course of action will be legal.

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
