Blocked drains - Inspection needed.

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 10:38, Friday 22 September 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5020631.

Ongoing issues every year between September - March..

There is 1 Thames water sewage drain and 4 gullies, which are in a slight dip – the gullies when backfills pushes out stinky water that then floods the street. They have not been well maintained and concerned about this moving into autumn/winter. I myself sweep the street of leaves to prevent the build up (which is not my responsibility).

There is a larger issue within the area as the whole area tends to flood due to a blockage somewhere (football pitch has a small river that it doesnt run into).

Please can we have this issue resolved as the contaminated water is becoming a frequent worry. Please contact me to discuss this further.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
