Advance Warning Highways Sign 26/9 to 28/9/2023

Reported via desktop in the Sign problem category by David Brian Allen at 10:24, Wednesday 20 September 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 5012909.

This an EXTREMELY URGENT ISSUE. Sign states: THIS ROAD WILL BE CLOSED HERE DAYTIME ONLY 26/9/23 TO 28/9/23. It has been in place for several weeks and is on the corner of Hedsor Road and the A4094 Ferry Lane leading to Cookham Bridge. An identical sign was on the Berkshire side of Cookham Bridge and on asking RBWM why it was there they REMOVED the Berkshire side sign two days ago. Implications for such a day time road closure are immense. It is on the Arriva No.37 bus route between High Wycombe and Maidenhead used by commuters and pensioners, every bus stop needs a warning notice. There is no room for vehicles especially large ones to reverse. There are no similar warning signs further back along Hedsor Road towards Bourne End. I have contacted RBWM yesterday and they replied today that this sign is in Buckinghamshire and they have NO KNOWLEDGE of why it is there at SL8 5EW. Grid Reference SU897865. What3Words: trim.notes.paper. This day time closure will cause GRID LOCK in the area. Because of the imminent time scale can you please give this request priority attention. Many thanks.
