Dangerous obstruction of junction visibility

The visibility is severely obstructed by the hedge growing alongside the high street creating a very dangerous situation for the drivers leaving Stewkley Road towards Aston Abbots and Wing. This issue has been reported with ref number 4928894 and part of the hedge adjoining to the corner plot was significantly reduced, thanks to the immediate action of the plot owners. This resolved this issue only partially as further cut back is required alongside other plots, further up the street. The angle of the road and the way the cars stopping before leaving this junction requires more push back of the hedge to improve the safety of the drivers and prevent potential accidents. Sadly many cars coming from Whitchurch direction do not adhere to 30mph speed limit which creates additional danger to the drivers leaving Stewkley Road. Great start has been made to make this junction safer, and I’m confident that with cooperation and understanding we can permanently resolve this issue .

An officer will carry out an inspection within the next 10 working days and arrange to have the issue resolved as soon as possible after that.
