Damaged Pedsestrian Island Crossing without Signage and Lighting

Reported via desktop in the Bollards or railings category anonymously at 16:32, Thu 31 August 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4945965.

Accident 30th/1st July around Midnight. This spot is Just Outside the Teppanyaki Sushi Restaurant (HP9 2JH). Damaged Traffic Island without Signage and Lighting (Both Missing and Damaged). Historically since Nov 2011 and recently reported under Reference 4323913. The event: At around midnight on the 30th/1st of July after attending a wedding event at the Crown Plaza at Gerrard's Cross (Driving) we were detoured from the M40 , so had to take the route on the A40 through Beaconsfield. I hit the traffic island with a very large force, which nearly toppled the car to the left. Me and my wife were shocked and traumatised, but OK. The car alloy wheel had taken most of the impact, but the whole suspension on my car needs to be replaced now. The accident was not reported at the time and family were able to assist. Though this issue was previously reported it still has not been fixed and so is worrying for others too. The issue has caused trauma and inconvenience for us both. I hope we can be compensated for this due to the roadworks not being of a sufficient safety standard to have have been avoided. I will be wanting some compensation for my troubles.
