Outside 34 Lye Green Road, HP5 3LR

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category by Mrs Susan Teden at 15:41, Thu 6 July 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4757580.

Previous reference number 4429227.

A drainage clearance vehicle worked on the drains in Lye Green Road on Friday 30 June 2023.

There have also been roadworks over 2 days - Monday 3 July and Wednesday 5 July.

However - the clearance vehicle - and the roadworks - were carried out on the opposite side of the road to where the issue is!!! Therefore NOT on the side of the road where the blocked drain is!!!

The blocked drain is directly outside my house - number 34 Lye Green Road.

Following the heavy rain on Tuesday 4 July, the flooding is still severe. Causing damage to the pavement outside my house - which in turn is causing a Health & Safety issue to pedestrians. Damage is also being caused to my private land.

Please could you give this matter your immediate attention?

Thank you.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
