Block drain, water flowing over a drop kerb into property
Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 09:04, Tue 20 June 2023
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4693204.
Drain is regularly blocked flooding one side of the road passing cars spray water over pedestrians as it in front of a school and there is no footpath on the other side of the road. The pictures attached would look the same if we had even 10 mins of light rain. only cars passing over the flooded area and spraying water on to my property is what reduces the amount of water that sits there. The biggest issue is that during breif periods of heavy rain the water flows over the low kerb and down the sloped drive way. This means that my drains need to cope with the heavy rain and all over the water that is flowing from the blocked drain as well as even more as cars drive through and push more water across the kerb and down . This same issue cause flooding in my house in 2020

This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.
We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
