Junction Abbey Barn Road and London Road A40

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights & crossings problems with timings category anonymously at 09:46, Thursday 15 June 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4675436.

Traffic is congested and queues upto 1/2mile long during peak times as when Lights on Green Phase to allow traffic to enter London Road from Abbey Barn road they only allow a maximum of 4 cars to pass through before changing to red yet the lights on the London Road A40 Stay green disproportionately much longer allowing upto 20+ cars to pass through sometimes with large gaps where more traffic from abbey barn road could join the A40. The timings should be adjusted so that at least 8-10 cars can join the A40 from Abbey Barn road, sometimes the queuing is ridiculous and encourages dangerous driving with many cars trying to beat the lights and go through red lights and others driving down on wrong side of the road to turn into Ford Street and use it as rat run to beat the lights, eventually there is high probability of a serious accident occuring unless these timings are adjusted.
