Tree has been sawn then removed
Reported via desktop in the Other tree issue category anonymously at 21:02, Mon 5 June 2023
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4635625.
About a year ago 2 trees were planted on this council land - alongside the edge of house on the corner of Wattleton Rd / Old Lodge Drive. The house owner did not want them planted there (she reported it on Nextdoor website). The trees were thriving, one still is. But recently the one nearest to the house was sawn in half. Then it (and all the supports etc.) was removed completely. You can see the root in the ground. Will the council plant another tree here?

Update Tree planting has captured the attention of the nation and there are many schemes going on, including the council’s own commitment to create new woodlands. If you or a community group would like to apply to plant a tree in Buckinghamshire the application form to plant a tree is available on the Buckinghamshire website.
The application cost will depend on the location and how many trees you want us to plant. The cost will also be less for applicants willing to cover the establishment maintenance over the first 3 years, such as watering the tree.
Once we've received the completed application form, a Local Area Technician will review, make a recommendation, and provide details of the cost to be covered by the applicants. If the costs have been agreed, the council will do the planting at the appropriate time.
We are also encouraging communities to see where they can get involved with planting trees in other areas, such as through The Queen’s Green Canopy. initiative.
