Worminghall Road, the drain that has just been repaired after it had collapsed

Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain category by John Mole at 07:59, Sunday 21 May 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4578201.

On south bound carriageway by 29 worminghall road Drain is full of tarmac. The contractors who repaired the drain have just thrown or dropped tarmac into the drain. When I challenged the contractors, they could not care less and told me it is a job for the gully cleaners. Such a slapdash attitude is not a good advert for TfB.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
