Public health issue 131 Abercromby Avenue waste water overflow

Reported via mobile in the Blocked drain category by akbar alizada at 07:45, Monday 27 March 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4362079.

This issue has been reported several times over the last 8 months not sure why it can’t be resolved. At 131 abercromby avenue, the waste water has been overflowing for at least 8 months now, with the water overflowing onto the public footpath and down rain water drainage. During the winter period we reported this as a health and safety issue as the water on the footpath was frozen and turned into an ice ring, now with warmer weather this will have a horrible smell and attract rodents. Never the less this should not be happening, the council needs to hold residents to account for their responsibilities as a tenant or a home owner.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.
