Blocked double gulley

Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 17:58, Monday 20 March 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4337054.

This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate. We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.

Update

We operate an annual gully cleansing programme, and our assessment has concluded that the issue reported will be resolved as part of this programme, should the team carrying out the clearance find any other issues these will be looked into and prioritised for a solution.

Please be assured, we will continue to monitor the area in line with our Highways Safety Inspection Policy. State changed to: Closed

For Bucks Council to say - "We operate an annual gully cleansing programme, and our assessment has concluded that the issue reported will be resolved as part of this programme, should the team carrying out the clearance find any other issues these will be looked into and prioritised for a solution." is either a blatant LIE or the gully cleaning programme has failed and is not fit for purpose - which is it ? The double gulley in question has not been cleaned for at least 4 years !!
