Manhole Cover Loose opposite 160 White Hill
Reported via desktop in the Manhole cover broken/missing category anonymously at 11:31, Wed 15 February 2023
Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4234408.
This problem has been in existence since early January 2023 and still not fixed despite notifications that it has been investigated. The manhole and cover supplied by Durey Castings EN124 D400 can be supplied with fixing screws as an option. The split sections can also have hinges for lifting. Both of these options would reduce the likelihood of the covers coming loose and causing so much aggravation to residents. This must also be a more cost effective solution to prevent the expense of repairing them. As a rate payer I would urge the Council to specify the enhanced design on this type of cover or insist that contractors do likewise.

Whilst this existing cover is suitable for vehicles up to 40 tons there are no fixing screws and probably no hinges. The cover on the right can be supplied by Durey which i am sure would be a far better solution and avoid all the aggravation we are suffering.
