Central Island Beacons Not Working

Reported via desktop in the Belisha Beacon broken category by Helen Griffiths at 13:16, Monday 9 January 2023

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 4104852.

The two beacons on the central island of this zebra crossing are not working. This happens often after heavy rainfall. The last engineer who attended said that there was water ingress into the electric which was causing the problem and that these should be replaced. If works are to go ahead to replace these beacons please could the contractor speak to the Parish Council - see details below, re possibly adding the lighting halo's around the beacons to improve visibility of the crossing.

Updates

  • The Street Lighting Team will carry out an inspection and order a repair if required, this can take up to 20 working days; however, due to the exceptionally high volume of reports currently being received, it may at present take longer than usual to complete this initial assessment.

Once the issue has been investigated, the team will order any necessary repair.

  • These lights have not been fixed. As this is an electrical problem the keep left signs at the bottom of the zebra crossing island are also not working meaning the central island of the zebra crossing is unseeable at night.
