Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3990965.

Hi Team Blocked slow clearing drains at the flood point along lower road. Outside properties 55,57,59,61 & opposite side of road 42,44,46,48. Drainline gulley clearing company here today 24/11 - thank you But due to parked cars All day - no access for clearing to workmen - drains under cars. Please request revisit to ensure they are cleared.

    We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.

  • Update

    We operate an annual gully cleansing programme, and our assessment has concluded that the issue reported will be resolved as part of this programme, should the team carrying out the clearance find any other issues these will be looked into and prioritised for a solution.

    Please be assured, we will continue to monitor the area in line with our Highways Safety Inspection Policy.
