Reported via Android in the Blocked drain category by P. Williams at 19:30, Wed 9 November 2022

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3952410.

This drain issue needs to be escalated as since the heavy rain and tractors have been in the field entrance opposite the drain has clogged.

Our children have to wear wellies to be able to walk up and back from the bus stop for school. The flood signs lefts by TfB are put up by residents to try and stop traffic from speeding into the flood and soaking cyclists and residents.

Updates

  • This has been passed to the Local Area Technician to investigate.

We know that an important part of any road network is the drainage system which is designed to carry water away from the road surface. Even when a gully is clean and well maintained it will only cope with a certain volume of water at one time, a sudden and heavy downpour can still cause flooding especially if the road is in a low lying area.

  • Update

We operate an annual gully cleansing programme, and our assessment has concluded that the issue reported will be resolved as part of this programme, should the team carrying out the clearance find any other issues these will be looked into and prioritised for a solution.

Please be assured that we will continue to monitor the area in line with our Highways Safety Inspection Policy.
