Closure of Marsh Lane to Bishopstone via railway crossing

Reported via desktop in the Bridges category by Clive Cohen at 13:33, Tue 1 November 2022

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3929933.

I am taking the presumptuous step of raising this issue on behalf of and as one of the local cycling community. Marsh Lane from the Stoke Mandeville end is the natural gateway to the Chilterns for road cyclists heading west from Aylesbury and points east. The (semi permanent?) closure of March Lane entails a very risky diversion on the B4009 Nash Lee Rd (passing the Chiltern Brewery). This road is narrow for the heavy volume of traffic using it. The road surface is treacherous, uneven and has many potholes and scars. With cars passing quickly it is a hazardous and high risk route for cyclists. As has been done in some other locations can the Council please lobby and pressure and require HS2 to construct a footbridge to cross the HS2 works enabling access between Marsh Lane and Bishopstone Rd? I look forward to your response. I expect the issue has been raised frequently and discussed at council?
