Loose manhole cover on Whitchurch High Street, bottom of Church Lane, northbound side - extremely noisy when traffic passes over it

Reported via desktop in the Manhole cover broken/missing category by Charlotte Lincoln at 17:02, Mon 30 May 2022

Sent to Buckinghamshire Council less than a minute later

This manhole cover has recently had tarmac laid over it, not sure why, but the effect is that now when traffic passes over it, it rocks back and forth making a dreadful racket. All traffic hits it, it's right in the mid line of the carriageway. It's unbearably noisy for residents.

  • 18/06/2022 The manhole cover has been replaced but this has not fixed the problem. The cover is rocking on its frame every time a vehicle goes over it, creating an unacceptable noise nuisance with every passing vehicle 24 hours a day. The faulty cover is right in the middle of the carriageway and every vehicle passes over it. Please urgently review and return to solve the noise issue.
