Fidlers Field / Snake Lane, Quainton Reported anonymously at 10:09, Mon 17 January 2022 Considering Snake Lane aka Fidlers Field is now used as an alternative route for traffic in and out of Quainton, since the Railway Bridge has been issued with a 3tonne weight limit, the bus route now diverts via Snake Lane/Fidlers Field and all other traffic, including heavy lorries, now has to use this route, this road, which was originally a gated road and not built for heavy loads and traffic, has to be gritted. It is not taken up on the regular grit route when it should be. I understand there are concerns about gritting bridges, but then grit up until the bridge either side and cars driving over the gritted road will distribute the salt and grit onto the bridge. Or at least provide bins for gritting so locals can go out and grit the roads ourselves. There’s already been an accident due to black ice. Cars are skidding and slipping each day that it has frozen. Please make our roads safe.
